Peter Day, presenter, BBC
Peter Day is presenter of the BBC Radio 4 programme In Business, with a mandate to seek out the trends which are about to influence the working world and make them interesting to listeners who may not have realised they cared about the subject. The Times has called In Business “the best business-related programme on either television or radio”. He also presents a BBC World Service programme Global Business. He has thrice won the Harold Wincott Press Award for broadcast business journalism, and in 2005 he was given a lifetime achievement award by The Work Foundation. His began his career on the Daily Record in Glasgow, before moving to BBC Radio News in London, specialising in business, City and money news. After a period in Zurich at the European Business Channel, in 1990 he became BBC News business correspondent. He is married with two girls and two boys and lives in Islington, 15 minutes cycling distance from the City of London. He is very slowly learning to play the cello and to ring church bells.
