William Higham describes the trends shaping the future of publishing.

William Higham is managing director of forecasting consultancy The Next Big Thing, which is a leading authority in predicting consumer trends, with clients ranging from Barclays and Budweiser to Mindshare and Mediacom. The company researches and produces trend reports and co-ordinates online research, including The Bookseller’s annual Reading the Future survey. William’s book The Next Big Thing [Amazon.co.uk], a guide to trend forecasting, was published in 2009, and has been translated into three languages.
